Prior to establishing her own firm, Melissa practiced landscape architecture in the Boston area for
over ten years with larger firms. As a sole practioner Registered Landscape Architect and LEED
Accredited Professional, she enjoys the ability to nurture client contact and quality assurance
throughout a project. She maintains established connections with excellent contractors in the Boston
area.
In addition to her understanding of grading, drainage, construction and design, her foremost
love is plants, the palette of the landscape architect. When appropriate, she using predominately native
plant species in her work. This maintains and enhances the habitat for native insects and
animals that are necessary for healthy and balanced plant communities.
Melissa holds a masters in landscape architecture from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, the
second oldest landscape architecture program in the country.
Melissa is also an artist whose paintings are often based on abstracted examinations of objects
and patterns found in the natural world.
